The guys who run the shop are total sweet hearts. This is a good interview with the dude southside who was always the guy behind the window askin him what the top 10 tapes to get were. This pic i took last june 27th to post on IG i think. here's what the old shop looked like.īassUhBassUhBassUhBass wrote:thanks for the postīarre, shit don't stop, on a pint, screwed up texas, don deal, saturday nite live, all work no play, all screwed up, who next wit plex, graduation 99, killuminati, da funk is on your mind, southside still holdin, einstein, oh wee man, jammin screw, hurricane duck, tha world is mine, endonesia, june 27th, dancing candy, g-code, popped up smoked up, no drank, feel my pain.i used to have more but some friends i just let borrow cds to put them onto screw and they never gave em back and i didn't really care or try hard to get em returned cause it was like i was spreadin the word of screw i guessīut i used to do all this research online lookin at tracklists and shit on 's forum and write a list of what i wanted and then go to the shop and see which ones they had in stock and buy whatever i could with the dream of ownin them all one day, this was before they were all easy to pirate online i guess i think the new location is prob the same setup but in a bigger space and i think there's now a memorial mural spraypainted on the wall or something, i'm still sad the old location closed though, bein in it just felt like being in a museum or something. there would also be cool stuff on the walls, like old photographs and posters.

he would give me free stickers/CDs and shit cause i would buy a lot. also i would usually get a bunch of CDs at once so he'd just carry them around and hand them to me directly instead of passing them one by one thru the slot. the dude behind the glass was always friendly though, usually would look dranked out and screw would be playin and he'd ask where i was from and shit.

the old location was cool but also weird cause there wasn't much merchandise to peruse, just a rack of a few XXXL shirts and a few whiteboards with all the CD titles listed and then you'd go up to the glass and tell the dude what you wanted and after you paid he'd slip it back to you thru the slot like you were at a bank or movie theater etc. they tend to not keep regular hours so its always best to call ahead to make sure they're open but that time i was to lazy to call ahead. in 2012 it moved to a different location and last time i was back home i tried to go but when we drove past it it was closed. here's what the old shop looked like.Ĭame to wreck wrote:i've actually only been to the shop when it was on cullen.
